Making the Team

August 2010 and believe me, it has been an incredible year so far.

As many of you know, my good friend Robin Brueckmann has been riding my Grand Prix gelding Raison d’Etre in Para Equestrian classes with the goal of making it to the Final Selection Trial for the WEG Para Team – well, they came, saw and conquered by winning EVERY Grade IV class they EVER entered, which did include those at the National Championship.

As of July 15, 2010 – Robin and Raison d’Etre are going to the WEG – let’s hear it for these two !!!!

You can follow their journey to the WEG on my blog at The Chronicle of the Horse at www.chronofhorse.com

Oyente’, Harry and Becky Butler’s beloved Grand Prix Andalusian stallion has been consistant in the showring. We competed at the USDF Goodhorseman Show in GA July 31 and our GP was good enough to tie for first with Sandy Osbourne. AT the dressage show in Asheville, Oyente’ won his third ever GP Freestyle with 65.5 % – our GPS suffered greatly from my stupid mistake of NOT checking the daysheet – we had literally no time to warm up and I retired half way thru the test – I swear, how dumb can one person be ?? The really bad thing was, that Oyente’s owners, Harry and Beckie Butler actually made the 2 hrs. trip from their Summer residence to see their boy go – goodness, it will be hard to live that one down !!! Anyway, Oyente’ just gets better and better – Have I said yet, how much I ADORE that stallion ?!?

Estepeno, Sharon Knight’s and Tim Corley’s impressive 3 year old Andalusian stallion competed in his first ever USDF recognized show and won the 3 year old stallion Materiale – mind you, I started him at the beginning of July and have been on him a total of 15 times…………..yep, his future’s so bright, I gotta wear shades !!!

Dreamtime Farms’ 5 year old American Warmblood mare Pax Romana D was another first timer at this show – she scored a respectable 73 % in Materiale which really put a big smile on my face. Pixel is a bright, athletic, but rather electric mare which in my opinion will serve her well in the FEI ring. She is for sale, but we will take our time with finding the ‘perfect’ show home for her.

Reve Dore’, my 2 year old homebred American Warmblood gelding
showed off his outstanding athletic ability by playing ‘yard ape’ ( a favorite expression of Carolin Walz of Dreamtime Farm) – goodness, he was all over me – but if I may say so myself, as his breeder, owner and handler……………….what an incredible horse ! Elasticity, type and yes, attitude – I love ‘em brats !!!

Speaking of brats…………….Foxcry Nicodemus, our pint size superstar has been working in long lines in preparation for half steps and passage. It is hard to keep a straight face when working with him – he is simply too smart for his own good and I have to be at least one step ahead of him at all times !

As of August 1, 2010 we have no stalls available. We will take new horses January 1, 2011. If you would like to be placed on our waiting list, please contact us before December 1, 2010.

Enjoy your Summer, keep your 2 and 4 legged children hydrated and safe from the Sun -

Hugs – Elly
